COPD activity in the NHS - Is it on the increase or are we better at diagnosis?

Cardiac/Pulmonary remains a significant diagnosis that accounts for c6.4 million (FCE's) patients being treated per year.
This is a key long term condition when trying to understand your local NHS hospital performance.
Increasing 28% (1,376,000 FCE's) over the last 5 years, and more prevalent in males than females (55%-46% split), treatment is predominantly as an Inpatient (76%) with an average length of stay of 6.6 IP nights
